We had another birthday boy in the house. Big Ben, The Benjamin, Big Jet, Benny Boy, the little man--call him what you will--turned ONE.
Hard to believe it's been a whole year. I feel like he's so much younger than Evan was when he turned one. Weird to say, but true. Probably because E had been walking for a couple of months by that time. Ben has taken a few steps and can totally do it, and totally refuses to. He is one stubborn kid, and just doesn't want to walk! It's kind of hilarious.
We love our Big Jet, as E nicknamed him. I don't know why, but it's cute. He still won't sleep through the night, is obsessed with food, growls and screeches, loves to wrestle, gives us crinkly smiles, has five teeth, loves knocking over towers and flipping through books, can clap and play peekaboo, screams at the cat and pulls out her hair (he adores her), and is super speedy when it comes to stairs. He has a special screech just for Evan when Evan is mad at something he's doing. He lights up when he sees his Dada. What would we do without him? Happy birthday Big Ben!!

For his birthday he got to eat donuts for breakfast, go to the zoo, and spend some birthday money from Grandma and Grandpa. We went out to dinner to the restaurant of his choice (Freddy's--yum!) and then went for ice cream. He got a two wheeler (well, technically, a 4-wheeler), fireman boots, his first real Legos, Angry Birds pjs, and a couple of books.

That night Grandma and Grandpa arrived for a visit. What an awesome day!
We had his birthday party on Thursday. We had a couple of his buddies and their families over for pizza and cake, then we headed up to Chuck E Cheese and let the kiddos play to their hearts' content. It was so fun.

I was going to do some big long (and probably boring) post about how I never thought I'd end up back in Oklahoma (and didn't want to, for that matter), but now that we're here, have a couple of years under our belts, and have bought a practice, I have come to terms with it, and we are officially, happily Okies (once again, for me).
John is the new owner of Vision Source Mustang. He's really enjoying having his own business. He has great employees, and the transition has gone really smoothly so far. I am just thrilled that he didn't have to start from scratch, as he had planned!

He was recently released (our bishop just moved), and called as the first counselor to the new bishop. Luckily for me, people in our ward have taken pity on me and started sitting with me to help me with the kiddos. Or maybe it's just so the rest of the ward can hear the speakers over my kids. One of the two.
Ben turned 9 months old a couple of weeks ago. His well checkup was yesterday, and he came in at 21.3 lbs, 29 inches, and a head circumference that was crazy big. She said it was in the 95-97th percentile. Yikes. Evan was almost exactly the same size at 9 months. He is crawling normally now, not just doing the worm. He pulls himself up on everything, and has mastered sitting himself back down when he's done standing. He cruises along furniture a bit. His favorite time of day is bath time. He loves the water. Never once in his life cried while in the bath. He's a little monster when he eats, yelling till the spoon is in his mouth, and sometimes yelling while it's in there. Crazy kid. We sure adore him.
B at 9 months:

Evan started preschool this month, which he enjoys. He's been very defiant lately, so we're working on it with a behavior chart. So far he's earned a trip to Chuck E. Cheese (every germophobe's nightmare) and a family bowling trip--E's first. He loved it. He's starting to recognize small words in books we read. So fun to see him learning!

It was so nice, and the fireworks in the town (just set off by random residents) almost beat out any professional fireworks show I've ever seen. Evan loved it, but Ben was not interested. In fact, he was downright grumpy about all the noise.

We got a book in a box of Cheerios called Peeney Butter Fudge. At the back of the book is a recipe for the fudge, and E insisted that he and Daddy were going to make it. So they did. (Unfortunately, the book was far better than the fudge.)

This little man (below) has been a handful lately. But I love him to pieces. His favorite game is Name that Tune, or "the Tune Game." Though he sometimes gets upset if I sing a tune that he determines to be one of "his" songs. He's awesome at it. He can play Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star and half of I am a Child of God on his little piano, and he loves to pick out other familiar songs like Old MacDonald and Happy Family. It's SO FUN seeing his musical talent come out. I can't wait till we get a real piano for him to play.
He says the funniest things, too. One night at dinner last month E and I were talking:
E: Someday I'm going to be a mommy.
Me: You're a boy; you can't be a mommy, but you can be a daddy! You can be a SUPER daddy!
E: Or, I can be Condorman!!
And because it's so cute, here's one more:
During scripture study one night Evan was repeating the words to Jacob 3:8 after John. It ends, "...before the throne of God." Evan repeated it, then turned to me and said, "No, Mommy, we don't want to throw things at God. Daddy, do a different one."
(LOVE IT.)
I could write a whole bunch more (I have them all written in my journal.), but I'll spare you. Just know that this boy is awesome.

I had found a simple tutorial online to make a tie for Evan, so I bought two of the one he picked out. Then I made a tie for Evan, and used the leftover pieces to make one for Ben, which I sewed onto a onesie. It was fun to do! Here are the results:

This is part of Evan's preschool class. E had such a good time at preschool, and learned a ton! We are excited for it to start up again in the fall. On the last day the kids got to play in the sprinklers. They also went on a "Tiger Safari" recently, where they got to see and touch lots of cool animals. Here is E with his little friend Taylor at the safari.

At his six month check-up, Ben weighed 18 lb. 15 oz. He was 28 inches long. Doc said that's 50-75% for weight and 95% for height. She had some concerns with his head shape, so he's having a CT scan next week. Yuck. They'll have to sedate him, which I'm nervous about. We're hoping everything is good, of course.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4273041866913689015.post-84760485699482143242012-04-11T13:09:00.011-07:002012-04-11T14:15:02.930-07:00April so farEvery April 1st growing up my mom would make a special breakfast for us--eggs on toast. When they were here for Ben's birth, my dad built us a raised bed for a garden. They filled it with good soil and even planted a few plants that could last through the winter. Now that it's warmer, Evan and I put in lettuce, spinach and carrots. Evan was very excited, and he loves checking on the plants that are sprouting. Good dirty fun.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVGCHhDDo7BmqGvd-75cFeTDOQ3AREl08sJjt63j8MsMaNbTEPs7Iu1vgsGxpbhq7f7dcx87Bz6zZbgCwjcyN4PA5at9iQAURlEmjykETgiN7Kiak8sTduo7q6apQ1-RqJL4lRXmxPvLQ/s320/planting+a+garden.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722914699064575426" />
We had a full day of crazy rain, and our backyard completely flooded. He has been for months, but wouldn't #2 in the potty for some reason. He always asked for a diaper when he had to go, did his business, then got his undies back on. And I wish I could say that something we did caused his change of heart. We tried EVERYTHING. But it was all him--one day he just decided to do it, and hasn't looked back since. This was his potty training prize. (I wish that jack on the side was for headphones, but it's worse--it's for a microphone. He loves to yell "HELLO!!" into it. Loudly. Repeatedly. Did I mention that he yells?)
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ9Yq9F-GzSPR43DYyIBgix4NgXZgoZgjekabNCHAsSev-YhZrrsjBRWBKRx5BdX69pVbG2nAXj1OBnGN1hMjCneK3iXAq1XE6LHbN2aQhC-OjxrboOeMv4Xf3pivUq5EaqXFs6G5u6oY/s320/I+am+potty+trained.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722914713026079074" />

We've been taking advantage of the much warmer weather with trips to the park and picnics. I am in love with his big toothless grins. Here are his four month stats:
Height: 25"
Weight: 17 lb 7 oz

We've been seeing a specialist for his liver enzyme issues, and haven't really gotten any answers. He's had lots of blood work, and his levels are slowly going down. An abdominal ultrasound came back normal. So we're just not sure what's going on, but we're less worried since he is moving in the right direction. We'll meet with the specialist once more next month, and then I think we're good.

He's a happy, good natured little boy who is (thankfully!!!) a good sleeper. More of an Allen in the looks department--several people have told me he looks like my dad. He enjoys dancing, chewing on his hands (pretty sure some teeth are just around the corner), smiling at his brother, trying to grab any and all food, sitting up, and being snuggled. We adore him.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkgZct4XR7KTkRMNcd8TTLJWvZd3cmU-DG2NpKy-l_QqISKfhLIYam096orjIgU7sZyMfzCCaSIGtbxshGRw1x3NO4hEaqSXuowp3pjy_F4LZg7AtTuH_l43J4byQgbaLSeoRLDl5HOhM/s320/DSC04672.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5719469024124955778" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiHKrlnAhboaWjIfW0ecPNvYQs0htv-i0RJaKa2qGNGKOyntSnpgxOQ-MFphiZatETQaCtBZ3n67DLX0F9hGsU-xpadmxQXpazm1P_xg-azXeKVZHBCjyAVY5F04OmdyubZHjYIYLqxzI/s320/DSC04688.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5719469035263464194" />

Love that ginormous smile!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4273041866913689015.post-21477595058243885652012-01-19T12:49:00.000-08:002012-01-19T13:20:50.421-08:00Two month statsBen had his well check last Friday, and here are his stats:
Weight: 13 lbs. 11 oz.--90 to 97th percentile
Height: 23 in.--50 to 75th percentile

They didn't write down his head circumference for me, but told me it's in the 75th percentile. Big boy. Guess I don't need to worry about him not geting enough milk!

He has developed some jaundice over the past few weeks so they did some blood work. It showed his liver enzymes are elevated, so they are trying to get us an appointment with a gastro specialist at the children's hospital. Hopefully we'll know something soon.

He's a happy boy, always ready with a smile!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4273041866913689015.post-3382464473102553972012-01-11T18:34:00.001-08:002012-01-11T18:50:49.684-08:00Brotherly loveEvan has been such a good big brother. While he definitely seems to be going through a rebellious, defiant stage, he never fails to want to love on Ben. He's always trying to snuggle him, rub his head, pick him up (!!), or rub his face on Ben. He is forever grabbing Ben's hand or foot, or whatever he can reach. When we get on to him about it (mostly about being too rough), he says, "He's just so cute, I want to touch him!" How can you be grumpy with that?

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioJ-FuIC7-hgnuGIr3vqKhykYk646aDyLCsdsETOMa4UX7kTsLJDcQytabPF8ezNrJxGmWU_8lSTt5oBOoUD5iVvHd-CWz-874eMXk51kTPhdCqxLcng8NOH33vSDvZDxqhmEM3xSt3Gk/s320/Evan+Ben+snuggles+Jan+12.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5696569965802894274" />
The other day I walked out of the kitchen to find this. :)
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMXhsJRbFIsaLJsfKurvttot14WdHAh1CMPV7pxxD_o7CSdMPfg4r-AkLXF-MgJ48VeCRaqF6qYQ5xPmVptobjPQz6Jd7v-SrZPoEiVcY2tK9B6m6KiZb3aMMiQFs9UOpjAWe8pXVEAI8/s320/DSC04598.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5696569947602852482" />
I finally got a pic that shows Ben's eye color. He's now 5 weeks old. He's been such a good little baby. He rolled over from his tummy to his back when he was 7 days old, and has been doing it consistently ever since. He's been giving us cute gassy smiles which I have yet to capture on camera. Yesterday he started smiling a bit in response to us, which has been fun.

Ben at one month.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVNUg8qejPpDrFdNKA1yjgSmB5ifq-jvIDAdWliv0qwoBqUs0PueBG-nFX2VdelSu9dW3L9-mO2ELfey3XpNPHE_ccpjQK7XZrD4emVfq8WBJB-dY3YUA0R5ZLFYKh7lFuQbzxQmrtUAo/s320/One+month.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5687854338100105010" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYo4fTpHGkH4eTp_of1qQGk7SW2EsPrig9r2q1KmCG8jKDqZlIAJeCobUkjBys58YDBzhqFlAdySMBqAxaSNhcd02MIcnuepH5eReuaqycxh7njE5WGkL3DkiA9Bq-76zgtNjcvO6WYR8/s320/one+month+with+Evan.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5687854334790802370" />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4273041866913689015.post-26404684657144143612011-11-20T07:49:00.000-08:002011-11-20T08:24:37.689-08:00Benjamin Allen KetcherBaby Benjamin arrived by c-section on Friday, November 11th. He shares his birthday with his Grandpa Allen and his Papa Ketcher--so cool. He's healthy and strong. The doc had ordered an ultrasound on his kidneys because they looked large before he was born, but everything was just fine! Hooray! He weighed in at 8 lb. 7 oz. and was 20 and 1/2" long. Big little guy for being just over a week early! He is super cute, and I see a lot of Evan in him. He eats like a champ but is always hungry. Last night he also slept like a champ! (I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high about that just yet.)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_MBk5LRiN4INUBzRReuLW09kyhKJyf2CNOPhxQvB-s7xvfJv4Uo1b-Idn0sP5oIdNGgNvCkbJy6wNmwDCZly2j94QfA5Cn_frQ8xYF2p-v2hWkL-jADs-uB1ogHF6n_f6zVZcgl081oA/s320/DSC04264.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5677113789727117714" />

Our doctor had been worried about placenta accreta since about 18 weeks. That meant I would absolutely have to have a c-section (which we expected because it seems no docs in OK will do VBACs anymore) with the chance that this could be our last child if the surgery didn't go well. Through lots of fasting and prayer, everything went great with delivery--no surgery required past the typical c-section!

However, in recovery I started feeling a lot of pain. When they tried to get me up to walk around, I almost passed out. Several hours later I started having difficulty breathing. Because of our family's history with blood clots they ordered a CT scan, and there found that I was bleeding internally. So, lucky me, I got to have a blood transfusion. Once that took place I was better able to recover, and they ended up letting us out of the hospital the following Tuesday.

Evan has been such a fantastic big brother to Ben. He's always walking up to him and saying, "Awww, hi Baby Ben!" and rubbing his head or giving him a snuggle. He loves to hold Ben as well. He's eating up all the attention from his Grandpa and Grandma Allen, who are here helping out (thank heavens!) and who have been absolutely fantastic. We look forward to Papa and Nana's arrival this week as well.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisE_NVpjbKWpIXY_GiZ9OngO56SFMJ1ONvn76YZ97Mfg_gjCAL380vlxe5ybStrYMW7pJpPVJgRJA93aAV-y_kj3Nv_auG15ohyphenhyphenpc2pzkm49yYaxajSFZcD794825r_i7_eh59oFVS8sg/s320/DSC04338.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5677113774400916562" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi97k8ZGKQMdA9cvj3Qq6NIoNWQYxMZaUcXsi0AzKbMO_tCF7BHabO9Nze6cbnykfoYkA3VxOJmVeQSolJJ3MfKB3x9NIdX2JrBkly6KVRIIjzZrmqzAmB7r6gFKNUlfNhqTrfVZqGB3XE/s320/DSC04317.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5677113766864783586" />
So all in all we're doing great. We've been trying to fit a lot in before baby comes (this coming Friday--YIKES!) and celebrating Halloween all month is just so easy! So here's what we've been doing. And sorry, the photos are in reverse order.

Evan told us for a month that he wanted to be a fire fighter for Halloween. When we went to pick out the costume, he saw this T-Rex and said, "I want to ride on a DINOSAUR!" So the costume changed to caveman on dinosaur. John likes to call him our Tyranocentaurus Rex.

Trunk or Treat
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvZAGWyAMZ2kfgoGpzLqBV0qsZB5RvdsDtbm1Zvpme-mYgW_5KZddVZyn8BrHXNV_4IsdaGLcSKEMLSEjLi-c9TdtQjXUHfKEWZUCUA-UP_hfH5VOix9v-wpYjD9tzNkm_aPDnRP_0XNE/s320/DSC04189.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5672095609592699554" />
We went to a pumpkin patch where Evan enjoyed a pony ride, petting zoo, tractor hay ride, corn maze and picking out his own pumpkin.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaniATsekKT2aBPiqjK2catiSgGAfTBzxnGzivg6XUGf16zbrg6of5XRIvc_KMMvTLYVoaew4iaqYSE4OEtV3-k1g-2bDDwao_yCo5Y3Ng_yVxSoF8ToQhAKee0tv51_Pdo0tTcj28D3Q/s320/DSC04183.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5672095165578202978" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiK_EBhlGmw9CQVLoPOcZtcTfcdpsf66roT-PplGsi3jdp4EdiWXQhF4_c-9DQH6B08T-depFC4fktSojvXmAc9AfmT6hsa_c96cpSPDp1nUBSHlIzP5yofmXqbJeRkqEL8Uzgq87032A/s320/DSC04176.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5672095160560878354" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6DUElAEZ-lr7Cy2eSLKDnLNHsOXZ5Uwy3tWXnsQ9xEogl6W3cYilf8vqmCYPAxnJ8zfXURXa4-wq1U11UL18Kf1HlbFB6qNwGNqtbTuXCBHKIL9eE_T1T7WzwldS5GSvxI-5PBHMEVwE/s320/DSC04166.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5672095151252919922" />
For FHE one night we made these little pipe cleaner spiders. Evan requested a Clifford the Big Red Dog birthday party with "a vanilla Clifford cake." Clifford isn't the most commonly requested character, so we had a little difficulty finding things, but I think it pulled together well. We invited three of his friends and their families for the party on Saturday.

We started with Pin the Tail on Clifford. Evan has a book about a birthday party for Clifford, and they have a pinata. We were lucky to find a dog bone-shaped one that ended up being nearly impossible to break. Let's just say everyone got LOTS of turns.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyFeJUqRIrJon90_ijeMYKJ5Rbn42tHmtvPsJuv4H45wPaaw5cK9i9go1B0PX9751m_4cC9HRDxdAOJw5HoCYn0vdO2d_MPn92Z9r3Iqp5oPWh_HiCDuTz-Mxq0qW4PEQF0bRu4y6U8Nc/s320/DSC04111.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5667228816370578418" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWuPhrPU-Te3KZPX4hBKx6JTNhAtAx2INVtuTuZe6_7nd8ue-0PQXSDrecCoxw2ihS-9tvIjwpRzBmIDhp0HjvibgZZgqvd6rnz8rISk5nI9nLKWvYyB5xaRaaVuiaH5LSfEoeacsKncE/s320/DSC04123.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5667228800336986882" />

We used a stuffed Clifford Evan has to play Find Clifford. Evan also requested a treasure hunt, so Clifford sent the kids on one that ended with a treasure box full of bubbles for the kids to play with outside. Everyone seemed to have a good time.

I think Evan's favorite part of the whole party was when everyone sang Happy Birthday to him. He was very excited about it. We listened to "I Love to See the Temple" like 15 times on our way. Unfortunately, we forgot about the temple being closed on Mondays--meaning the gate was locked. Evan was so sad. We had brought a picnic dinner and sat in the shade to enjoy it nonetheless, and we talked about the temple. We were almost done when we noticed two random men walking through the church parking lot. They walked past us and up to the temple gates, where one pulled out his keys and unlocked them! They proceeded inside the temple. We don't know who they are, but we were sure glad they came! Evan got to go up and touch the temple, and walk around the (very small) grounds. He LOVED it. What a fun memory!

Touching the temple.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4E-wnyHYuBImwAJuybBC3GagtvRf_jgEJwa9KZOjg0mz395wdFaK2XnA3oeHZ0dUL1LsHNvt1HHhXzYHwhD45ZYg5HHa_7HAGqdx_PTV_0SEQZjs6qPjgxKfF2WrckWmgkZ3PXYdkczo/s320/Evan+touching+OKC+temple.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5656761891236583874" />

Evan and Daddy relaxing after dinner.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV8Paqr8puKmBjtVT8kLvdn-nsUP7bPnmHqwYAkKzVqYF7wDa1_PxKXcvQ3X07X7XyY6YtyFrS3PYBgMcXTPUn7ca_xdlD0IL9_nCVjpb1GofsG_mi1nZX2CBv3wc8qQgOtkyArC5sjkc/s320/Evan+Daddy+at+temple.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5656761895555449250" />

John wanted to take Evan to "The Lawnmower Store" (Lowe's) to build a craft, but the activity was all full when he tried to sign up. Sort of boring for posts, so I've neglected the blog. But here are a few photos of recent daily activities.

I've been wanting to make E a superhero cape for ages, and have simply been lazy. But the other day at Walmart we saw this one for super cheap. Evan was so excited to have it in his hands that he started yelling to the first person he saw, "Look! Look! It's a superhero cape! Now I will fly in the sky!" Unfortunately, the cape's magical qualities didn't perform to his expectations. We're still working on pretending to help get over the disappointment.
We do a lot of "parking cars" with E. Notice (if you care to!) all the animals/figures are on the "sidewalks" and all the cars are on the "roads."
Evan loves to vacuum. I try to indulge him as often as possible.
And what can I say? He's a cute kiddo. Sure do love him. I'm going to brag now. I think he's a super smarty pants. I counted the songs he knows how to sing and got to 25 before I had to stop. Today he started singing the first two lines to "Tell Me the Stories of Jesus." I didn't know he knew that one. He can count to 30 now, and knows his letters. He's starting to recognize the sounds the letters make too. It's been really fun.

And here are a couple of his cute mispronunciations: Lately he wants to do everything "All my byself," (as he points his thumb at his chest.)
If I ask him why, he says, "Capause."
And my all time favorite that I was really sad when he finally got right: badesadas instead of bananas. Oh, how I miss that one!

The other night while reading scriptures, Evan quoted, "because of the anger of my bretheren," as "because of the Angry Birds." John and I couldn't help laughing out loud at that one. Evan looked very pleased with himself.
